CBT Hosts First-Ever Awards Ceremony
On April 28, 2025, the College of Business and Technology (CBT) held its inaugural Awards Ceremony from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the Broken Arrow campus. The event was organized by students Jacqueline Leading Fox, Dorothy Swearingen, Estephany Cavello, and Carter Bledsoe as part of Dr. David Dyson’s Experiential Learning class.
The ceremony brought students, faculty, and staff together to celebrate academic excellence,
leadership, and contributions to the CBT community. Guests enjoyed refreshments, picture
opportunities, and a formal program that recognized a wide range of achievements.
Among the many honors presented were multiple Student of the Year awards, including Faculty-Nominated Student of the Year, Student-Nominated Student of the Year, Accounting Student of the Year, and Marketing Student of the Year. Other awards included Academic Achievement Awards, recognition for the top-performing team in the Business Policy Glo-Bus Simulation, and Outstanding Student Organization, which was awarded to the Ethics Bowl team. The college also recognized CBT’s Instructor of the Year and Academic Advisor of the Year.
The event had a strong turnout and was a great opportunity to connect with members of the CBT community. By highlighting the dedication and accomplishments of students, faculty, and staff, the first-ever CBT Awards Ceremony was a memorable success and a promising start to what may become an annual tradition.
