BPA State Leadership Conference

Faculty members LeShay McNack and Rick Wallace formed part of the BPA State Leadership Conference recruiting event on March 9th in Tulsa. The BPA (Business Professionals of America) State Leadership Conference is an event for high school students from across Oklahoma where they compete and showcase their occupational skills. Students had the opportunity to be selected by their peers and become a member of BPA. This event is a great opportunity for students to explore potential career paths, network, and meet new BPA friends from around the state.

The College of Business and Technology forms part of the career fair every year. This year was the first time Dr. McNack attended the event and she enjoyed it a lot. CBT attends recruiting events like this to share information about the programs and degrees the CBT offers with high school students interested in Business degrees.

Dr. McNack has worked in the private industry in Human Resources Management for over 19 years. She enjoys helping students discover what areas of study they could be interested in, which is why she enjoyed participating in the BPA State Leadership Conference recruiting event. She said: “I am very passionate about helping people to reach their goals. Some people are unsure about their capabilities, so I like to talk to them about what they want to do. That helps sometimes to get them on the right track. I am very passionate about helping people reach their goals”. She added that many high school students were interested in NSU and that she and Dr. Wallace enjoyed sharing valuable information about the good opportunities that NSU CBT offers.
